Vallourec & Mannesmann Tubes
VALLOUREC & MANNESMANN TUBES, a Vallourec Group Company, is the world market leader in the manufacture of seamless hot rolled steel tubes for all applications. The Company operates eleven state-of-the-art pipe mills worldwide. Eight are located in Europe (four in France and four in Germany), two plants in Brazil and one in the USA, and a tube finishing plant in China.
V & M TUBES supplies the world's largest and most comprehensive range of seamless steel tube sizes and has an annual output of up to three million tonnes.
The company was founded in October 1997 as a joint venture between the French Vallourec Group (55% of shares) and the German Mannesmannröhren-Werke GmbH (45% of shares) joining together all their production units and marketing interests for seamless hot rolled tubes and threaded oilfield tubulars (OCTG).
In May 2000, the company took over the Brazilian company Mannesmann S.A. in Belo Horizonte, which has been renamed V & M do BRASIL S.A.
In July 2002, V & M TUBES took over the tubular division of North Star Steel and renamed it to V & M STAR. The company has production sites in Youngstown (Ohio) and a OCTG shop in Houston (Texas).
With effect from 1 July 2005, Groupe Vallourec took over the 45 percent stake in V & M TUBES previously held by Mannesmannröhren-Werke GmbH and thereby increased its 55 percent holding to 100 percent.
V & M TUBES has steel production capacities of its own in Saint-Saulve (France), Duisburg-Huckingen (20% shares in HKM, Germany), Belo Horizonte (Brazil) and in Youngstown (Ohio). With this independence, the company is not only in a position to offer short delivery times but also to produce hundreds of different steel grades matched to the individual demands of the tube and pipe customers.
